Revealing a different side of Ecquarians at Ho Chi Minh City Retreat 2015

To reap a return in ten years, plant trees. To reap a return in 100, cultivate the people.
The quote by Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam’s nationalist revolutionary leader, is especially apt for Ecquaria’s company retreat to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

4th to 7th September 2015 was the annual Ecquaria company retreat. With many Ecquarians stationed at the customer’s site, the annual company retreat is an excellent opportunity to know colleagues beyond each team better. This year, Ecquarians bonded over Banh Mi, coffee, Pho and cheap beer.

Of course, the entire retreat was not only about food. The trip started off on a high note as the various groups were required to complete specific tasks starting from Singapore Changi Airport. It was no doubt a good “wake up call” for Ecquarians who had to assemble at 5 a.m. for the morning flight.

Upon arrival, breakfast was served before having the nostalgic themed team bonding amongst the trees, away from Internet connection and emails. The park was filled with laughter and genuine smiles as the activities brought out the childlike side of Ecquarians which was often hidden behind professionalism at work. The fighting spirit behind the success of Ecquaria was evident from how everyone fought for the grand prize.

Other than an excellent bonding opportunity, the retreat was a well-deserved break for everyone. Rich with culture and commerce – from historical heritage to shopping sprees, from tasty street stalls to relaxing massages – the Ho Chi Minh City has a place for everyone.

All in all, it was a recharge for everyone and a perfect way to kick start the new financial year.
